    澳門科技大學醫學院開辦的內外全科醫學學士學位課程的設置是參考了英國及其他國家的課程結構與內容。課程以培養學生的能力為基本,包括五年的常規課程及一年的實習。本課程的主要目標是為澳門培育“明日醫生”,使他們具備同理心、愛心及技術和能力以提供有效和高水平的醫療護理服務。課程由基礎模組開始,進階至各種基礎科學和臨床實習。


    第一階段:醫學教育及培訓導論

    第一階段的課程,首三個月為導讀課程,重點讓學生瞭解課程結構、溝通技巧的重要性、語言能力、道德倫理、人文素質和醫生的職責。課程引導學生在臨床上應用基本科學的概念,積極學習及循證實踐。該模組完成後會進行評估,使學生熟悉考試要求和技巧。


    第一階段:結合臨床個案來學習生物醫學教育

    第一階段會繼續採用每個學習模組為期五週的教學方式,此模組的教學是按不同的臨床個案,與解剖學、生理學、生物化學、藥理學、病理學、微生物學等知識整合。醫科生需在第一學年和第二學年結束前進行一個總結性的筆試和實務考試,另外再完成六星期的選修課程後,才進入第三學年第二階段的學習。


    階段:臨床基礎見習

    第三年的基礎臨床課程分別在醫院、衛生中心和社區診所三個地方進行輪轉,從學生面對真實患者時學習各種不同領域的基礎臨床檢查技能。讓學生有機會在常規和輔助性檢查前學習透過詢問病史和體格檢查作出診斷的能力。課程結束時將進行第三次筆試和臨床技能考試,接著是四星期的選修課程。


    第三階段:臨床高階見習

    為期六個月的高階見習是實踐臨床基礎課程的延伸,從小兒科到老人科以及精神科患者檢查和管理的闡述,鞏固臨床診斷技能。於高階見習期內,學生將被安排至澳門科大醫院和診所進行實習。見習結束後不會有總結性考試,然而,學生的臨床日誌和臨床能力將會納入並作為連續性評估的一部分。


    第四階段:專科臨床見習與實習助理

    專科見習為期一年,涵蓋外科,婦產科,兒科,家庭醫學,社區醫學和其他亞專科。見習的重點是處理問題。通過第一,二階段以及第三階段的模組學習後,學生應該掌握到足夠的技能,以實習助理的角色,協助專業間團隊參與患者的處理。在完成專科見習和複習期後,學生將進行期末考試,以獲取內外全科醫學學士學位。


    選修科目:

    學生在第一,二,三和最後一個學年結束前可修讀一門為期6周的選修科目,有助廣闊視野,讓他們在衛生保健專項,志願服務,國際衛生等獲取經驗。學生將與指定的導師一起工作以確保其參與的積極性。


    實習:

    在成功通過內外全科醫學學士學位課程的考核後,學生將在澳門及境外的認可培訓單位接受為期12個月的認可臨床實習,澳門科技大學將監督學生的實習情況,以確保學生獲得良好及充份的臨床經驗。學生需要得到導師對其實習記錄的認可,簽署確認完成實習並符合要求後,學生方及格完成整個課程的要求。

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)

“Creating tomorrow’s medical doctors”

Course Description 

PHASE ONE: FOUNDATION BLOCK

Phase I of the course begins with three months of orientation program emphasizing course structure, importance of appropriate communication skills, language proficiencies, ethical & moral values, humanity and duties of the doctor. It also introduces students to application of basic sciences in clinical context along with concept of active learning and evidence-based practice. This block will be followed by a period of formative assessment to familiarize students with examination requirements and techniques. 

MBBS101 INTRODUCTION TO STUDY OF MEDICINE

The foundation block focuses on the basic knowledge which year 1 medical students need to prepare themselves for up-coming systems blocks and beyond. It covers basic anatomy, cell biology, immunology, physiology, pharmacology, and microbiology. This block aims to give an overview to health and diseases (clinical medicine), the practice of medicine on a personal level (doctor/patient relationship and medical ethics) and on a population level (healthcare in Macau). In parallel, students will have hands-on experience in practical and clinical skills classes to enhance their learning experience.

MBBS102 LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION SKILLS

The Language and Communications block focuses on improving the students’ ability to communicate effectively, both in speech and also in writing. It covers introduction to Language and Communications, the importance of communication in medicine, presentation skills and poster making, grouping up, student-led lectures, making posters & discussion forum, discussion forum, poster presentations.

MBBS103 MEDICAL ETHICS, HUMANITIES AND LAW (MEHL)

The MEHL is a longitudinal teaching module covering the 5-year study of the MBBS program. A variety of well-structured lectures and interactive experiential learning activities is the mainstay of MEHL for delivering abstract and intuitive concept such as self-understanding, human nature, as well as life and death. The teaching of legally associated issues, for example the definition of medical incidents, patient’s right, liabilities of medical-related legal persons, legal regulations applicable to medical services, etc., is another inevitable component constituting the MEHL. In particular, the MEHL also focuses on the education of Constitution and Basic Law, with the hope of fostering our students to become skillful and law-abiding medical professionals equipped with a passion of serving not just the local society but also the country.

MBBS104 INTERPERSONAL SKILLS WORKSHOP

The course aims to assist the student in developing fundamental communication skills and professional behavior upon which they will build their future medical practice. 

PHASE ONE : BASIC & APPLIED BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

Phase I will continue with nine blocks of five weeks each consisting of respiratory, cardio-vascular, gastrointestinal, urogenital, musculoskeletal, central nervous, head & neck, haematology and immunology, and endocrine systems. Teaching in these blocks will be organized with integration of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology based on clinical scenarios. There will be written and practical summative examination at the end of gastrointestinal and endocrine systems followed by four weeks of elective period before students’ progress to third year of Phase II program.

MBBS105 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

This block aims to provide a basic understanding of normal structure and function of the respiratory system and pathology, microbiology, immunology, radiology, diagnosis and treatment and management of common respiratory diseases. It covers basic anatomy, cell biology, immunology, physiology, pharmacology, and microbiology.

MBBS106 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM

The cardiovascular system block focuses on the heart and vasculature. This block aims to provide a comprehensive survey of the structure and function of the various components of the cardiovascular system, followed by how these structures and functions can go wrong in a few common cardiovascular diseases.

MBBS107 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - GASTROINTESTINAL SYSTEM

The gastrointestinal system block focuses on the gastrointestinal tract and its associated structures like the pancreas, liver and gallbladder. The block starts with a comprehensive survey of the structure and function of the various components of the gastrointestinal system followed by how these structures and functions can go wrong in a few common gastrointestinal diseases. This block aims to provide a basic understanding of normal structure and function of the gastrointestinal system and pathology, microbiology, immunology, radiology, diagnosis and treatment and management of common gastrointestinal diseases.

MBBS201 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - UROGENITAL SYSTEM

The urogenital system block utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to cover the fundamental knowledge covering the structure, function, and pathogenesis of urogenital system.

MBBS202 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM

The musculoskeletal system block focuses on the limbs and the back. In this system block, students will start with a comprehensive survey of the structure and function of the various components of the musculoskeletal components of the limbs and the back. The pathogenesis and management of common musculoskeletal conditions will be discussed in lectures, as well as in team-based learning and practical sessions.

MBBS203 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - NERVOUS SYSTEM

The nervous system block focuses on the nerves and neuronal network which make up the central and peripheral nervous systems. In this system block, students will learn a comprehensive treatment of the anatomy of central and peripheral nervous system structures, followed by the physiology and pathophysiology of the central and peripheral nervous system. Throughout the block, we will also explore the drugs used to modulate nervous system function in the treatment of disease.

MBBS204 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - HEAD & NECK SYSTEM

The head & neck system block aims to provide the knowledge on the structure and function of different parts of the head, neck and skin; the derangement of the various structures in the head, neck and skin in common diseases affecting them; the mechanisms of some common symptoms and signs of head, neck and skin diseases; the principles of the medical and surgical management of some common diseases affecting head, neck and skin.

MBBS205 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - HAEMATOLOGY & IMMUNOLOGY SYSTEM

The hematology and immunology (H/I) block focuses on fluid connective tissue, blood, which is dynamic perfusion of vasculature with specialized cells in plasma. Definition of hematology is the study of blood and its related diseases, whereas immunology is the study of the immune system. In this system block, an overview of the structure and function of H/I systems and the consequences of dysfunction of the H/I system and its related diseases and strategies of treatments against H/I systems would be discussed.

MBBS206 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES IN CLINICAL CONTEXT - ENDOCRINE SYSTEM

The endocrine system block focuses on the normal functions of the endocrine systems and the diseases that occur as a result of disorders of endocrine function. In this system block, students will learn about the anatomy, histology and the physiology of the endocrine system. Students will also learn about the importance of calcium, vitamin D and glucose regulation by the endocrine system. They will study the involvement of hormones in development and growth and how adipose tissues contribute to hormone release. In addition, they will learn about clinical features of several hormonal disorders. Lastly, they will study the general and pharmacological management of common endocrine disorders.

PHASE TWO : JUNIOR CLERKSHIP

The third year of clinical foundation course with three rotations will be held at hospital, family medicine and community health clinics to learn basic clinical examination skills with real patients across various specialties. Students will have an opportunity to acquire competency and skills in making diagnosis based on comprehensive history taking and physical examinations before any routine and supportive investigation are undertaken. Course will end with third summative written and clinical examination followed by four weeks of elective.

PHASE THREE : SENIOR CLERKSHIP

The senior clerkship of six months duration will be, in practice, an extension of clinical foundation course to consolidate clinical diagnostic skills with interpretation of investigation and management of patients from paediatrics to geriatrics, Ophthalmology, Dermatology & Ear, Nose, Throat Senior clerkship will be done at hospitals and clinics. There will be summative Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) at the end of clerkship along with formative evaluation of students’ logbooks and clinical competence as a part of continuous assessment.

PHASE THREE: SPECIALTY CLERKSHIP & ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP

Specialty clerkship is a year long program consisting of six rotations of eight weeks each comprising specialties of surgery, medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Community Medicine and other subspecialties. Emphasis in this clerkship will be on management issues. After progressing through Phase I, II and part of III modules, it is expected that students have acquired sufficient skills to participate in active management of patients as an Assistant interns along with interprofessional team. After completion of specialty clerkships and a period of revision, students will need to write the final examination.

YEAR 6: WORKING UNDER SUPERVISION - CLINICAL INTERNSHIP IN HOSPITALS

After successful accomplishment at the final examination, medical students will undertake 12 months of compulsory and supervised internship of 4 rotations with 3 months each at recognized training units in local or overseas hospitals. The University will monitor the internship program to make sure interns have obtained good clinical experience; and supervisors have signed their logbooks to document satisfactory completion of internship before they can fulfill the degree requirements.

MBBSE01/MBBSE02/MBBSE03: ELECTIVES

Students are given opportunities to enrich themselves by hands-on experience in health-related research, which can be either basic science or clinical in wet lab, dry (virtual AI lab), hospitals, companies, volunteerism in local or overseas organizations. The electives are self-initiated to learn with the supervision and guidance from the designated supervisor from MUST Medical Faculty and the hosting organizations.

內外全科醫學學士學位課程的編排是採用學年制,而非學分制。 學生必須修讀完成學習計劃規定的表(一)中的必修科目;學生如在總結性筆試和客觀結構化臨床考試中未能通過者,可准予補考一次。補考不合格者須重讀該學年所有學科。 學生按課程的需要及個人的興趣修讀選修科目,如選修科目不通過,需重修或改選其他選修科目。 學生獲成功通過內外全科醫學學士學位課程的所有考核之後,將在澳門及境外的認可培訓單位(醫院或醫療機構) 擔任駐院實習醫生,接受為期12個月的訓練和評核。 學生在完成專科見習和複習期之後,需要進行並通過終期考核,方可獲授予內外全科醫學學士學位。

畢業資格

學生須符合下列各項規定,並經大學學術及教學委員會通過可獲頒發學士學位﹕ 1.在所屬課程之修業期內完成及通過學習計劃的要求; 2.遵守大學的修讀守則; 3.繳清指定費用及歸還所借的大學財物。
