Currently, Dr. Wong’s research focuses on discovering and characterizing natural bioactive compounds with translational potential for cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and immune modulation. In parallel, he investigates medical applications of artificial intelligence, including the modeling of the human full‑cycle biological clock to improve our understanding of circadian effects on disease and therapy, to building AI‑driven tools for diagnostic support. By bridging natural product discovery with computational and AI methodologies, his work aims to accelerate the translation from molecular insights to clinically actionable interventions. His recent findings have been published in journals like Nat. Med., Trends Mol. Med., J. Transl. Med., Chin. Med. J., Pharmacol. Res., Biomark. Res., Food Chem.:X and Int. J. Biol. Macromol. He also serves as a member of the ethics commission for life sciences and a former member of the talent development committee's “Big Health” task force of the Macao SAR government.
