The Center for Continuing Medical and Health Education (CCMHE), of the Faculty of Medicine, Macau University of Science and Technology, is a simulation training center. It provides comprehensive and integrated training courses at internationally recognized standards. Courses include first aid, pre-hospital and in-hospital care, skills training such as virtual intravenous injection, tracheal intubations, etc. Mannequins are used in all of our courses, and different kinds of accidents and disasters can be simulated for the trainers and candidates. In the scenario training, mannequins will be used as victims, and there is also a simulated ambulance service, thus making the drills more realistic.

There are basically three parts in training: knowledge, clinical skills and professional attitude. Academics and medical education experts have drawn up a teaching and learning process called “learning circle”, which is divided into five sections: Knowledge Acquisition, Skills Proficiency, Computer Simulation, Team Simulation Exercises and Clinical Experience.

The Center not only provides training courses for professional doctors and nurses, but also health programmes for medical and health managers, police, fire fighters, security personnel, ground airport staff and hotel employees.
