38th Sino-Luso International Medical Forum

The Sino-Luso International Medical will be presenting the latest advances in biotechnology in Macau from 19th to 21st August 2017.

This 38th Sino-Luso forum is titled, Recent Advances in Biotechnology and Applications. It aims to present and promote the relevant advancement biotechnology to regional medical education with seminars and workshops about biotechnological research and industry.

This 3-day event offers an exciting program with a top-notch group of speakers, lecturers and scientists. A list of topics also includes pharmaceutical, medical and molecular inventions, related equipment in the field of healthcare, cancer treatment and nanotechnology.

President of the Sino-Luso International Medical Forum, Prof. Manson Fok, comments, “The Macao SAR has been extremely successful for the past 10 years in gaming. It is a historical city that blends old Portuguese style buildings, churches, East meets West relics and world class resorts and facilities. There is a lot of new ideas being generated to diversify its economy and we are doing our bits in the health care sector by bringing high quality professionals to Macau. This Biotech event alone will attract many industry experts from the region to meet and to discuss.”

Prof. Fok continues, “This is like what President Xi Jinping proclaimed publicly to encourage Macau professionals to expand beyond gambling and promote appropriate diversification for the great importance for the interests of the people of Macau. And we are proud to say this will be the largest life sciences event we have ever done for the past 7 years.”

During this amazing conference, scientists and delegates will have the opportunity to network at the combined scientific forums, workshops and also roundtable discussions.

Vice President of Sino-Luso International Medical Forum, Dr. Billy Chan comments, “The faculty of health sciences of MUST will chair all the academic programs. We are particularly pleased to give a special welcome to all our experts and partners, especially to those who are attending for the first time.”

A list of top lecturers and scientists will form an expert panel for this forum. They include international biotech expert Prof. Johnson Lau, Honorary Professor, The University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Larry Chow, Professor, Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Prof. Wallace Leung, Chair Professor, Innovative Products & Technologies, Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

In addition, we have also invited top professionals, such as Prof. Kelvin Yeung, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, Dr. Amber Chiou, Research Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Dr. Qiubin Lin, Research Associate, School of Biomedical Science of the University of Hong Kong.
