Dr. Tian Zhong is currently an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). Dr. Zhong obtained his bachelor's degree and PhD in Food Science and Agricultural Engineering from Jilin University. Furthermore, he completed his postdoctoral research in Chemistry at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prior to joining MUST, He held positions as a professor and department head at Zhuhai College of Jilin University. Additionally, he served as a visiting scientist at the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida. Dr. Zhong’s research focuses on the application of biomaterials and nanotechnologies in food safety and drug delivery, as well as the functional activity and synergistic effects of natural extracts. He has published over 60 SCI papers in international journals such as Trends Food Sci Technol, Compr Rev Food Sci Food Saf, Crit Rev Food Sci Nutr, Carbohydr Polym, J Agric Food Chem. Additionally, he has applied for or been granted more than 10 patents. He has served as the principal investigator for over 10 research funds including NSFC-FDCT joint project. Currently, he is a member of the Teaching Steering Committee for Food Science in Guangdong Province, a member of the Food Safety Expert Committee in Zhuhai City, and an editorial board member of Scientific Reports. We welcome students with backgrounds in food science, biomaterials, pharmaceutical formulations, and related fields to join our research group and pursue a master's or doctoral degree.
