The World Chinese Doctors Association (WCDA) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Global Fair Pay Charter officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony held on the morning of Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Medical Simulation Training Center of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Faculty of Medicine. The primary objective of this collaboration is to advance global health by providing essential medical education and training for doctors, nurses, and medical students to address challenges in global medicine and surgery.

Against the backdrop of increasingly prominent global health issues, the cooperation between the WCDA and the UNITAR Global Fair Pay Charter is particularly significant. This partnership aims not only to enhance the professional capabilities of healthcare personnel but also to promote international exchange and collaboration in medical knowledge, thereby improving the quality of healthcare services worldwide.
Professor Fok Manson, Dean of the MUST Faculty of Medicine, was appointed as the China Ambassador for the Global Fair Pay Charter in 2024. He is responsible for establishing a Comprehensive Medical Simulation Training Center in the Greater Bay Area, dedicated to providing professional medical training for healthcare workers. This center serves as a crucial core platform, integrating various resources to deliver high-quality medical education and support training programs at all levels, striving to inject new vitality into the healthcare industry.

After years of planning, the Medical Simulation Training Center at the MUST Faculty of Medicine has successfully led outstanding global medical organizations in establishing an international platform for health education cooperation. The signing of this MoU marks not only the achievement of joint efforts by both parties but also a clear commitment to the future direction of global medical education.

This collaborative program is designed to provide more direct and excellent medical education and training for frontline doctors, nurses, and medical students under the UN framework. It seeks to enhance the professional skills and clinical training quality of medical personnel, meeting evolving healthcare demands. Both parties believe this initiative will foster the exchange of contemporary medical knowledge and expertise to tackle challenges in global medicine and surgery, ensuring healthcare professionals possess the necessary competence and sense of responsibility, thereby improving healthcare quality and patient safety.
Furthermore, following the signing ceremony, a series of thematic lectures and exchange activities will be held over three days. Experts have been invited to share the latest trends and best practices in international medical education, promoting in-depth exchanges and collaboration among participants.
