45th Sino Luso International Medical Forum

The 45th Sino-Luso International Medical Forum in Macao from 2 – 4 November will host special training courses titled “New Era for Cancer Prevention and Treatments.” Designed to enhance Macao’s frontline medical professionals in public and private hospitals, this 45th Sino-Luso International Medical Forum features distinguished keynote speakers and hands on workshops. These focus on the latest research in cancer prevention and treatment.

Here are the highlights of the medical forum:

Australian expert, Prof Felix Wang, coming over to speak about the latest non-invasive method called HIFU, a revolutionary breakthrough in surgical technology that can generate highly localized heat to eliminate cancer tumors without skin puncture.

Ms Nicole Mak from Canada will also present a paper at our symposium titled, “The Importance of Protein Intake in Cancer Patients”.

Portuguese expert Dr Monica Pon will be presenting a brand-new and timely paper at this forum titled, “Oncological Disease Diagnosis from Internal Medicine Perspective.”

Hong Kong specialist Dr Angus Leung will present a timely topic titled, “Latest Treatment Advances in HR+ HER2- Metastatic Breast Cancer”. Dr. Alice Ng, another Hong Kong expert, will speak about the latest topic, “Optimizing the Role of Cancer Immunotherapy in Metastatic Lung Cancer”.

Dr Qian HU from Sun Yat Sen University in Guangzhou will present the latest oncology research titled, “Adjuvant Chemotherapy Guided by A 21-Gene Expression Assay in Breast Cancer”.

Expert of Macau, Prof Gregory Cheng will be presenting his latest paper “Management of carcinomas - Today and Tomorrow”. Another expert from Macau, Dr Leong Iat Lun, the Vice President of Macau Breast Association, will present the latest findings titled, “Advance Skills in Breast Cancer Operation”.

There will be a Cerebral Endovascular Surgery Workshop and hands-on Workshop by Dr Wan Chao Bai that covers some of the most difficult intervention techniques; these include  Microcoil Embolization & Intracranial Stenting. These take place at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Macau University of Science and Technology.
